Parliament votes to go ahead with deliberation of 3 charter amendment bills.

MPs and senators voted Thursday to go ahead with deliberation of three charter amendment bills without waiting for three other drafts being sponsored by civil groups.

When the joint House-Senate session began at 9:40 am to deliberate three charter drafts sponsored by the government, the Pheu Thai Party and Chart Thai Pattana Party, Democrat MPs proposed that the session should be delayed to wait for three civil groups to submit their drafts first.
The Parliament then spent over two hours to debate whether the session should be postponed.  Parliament President Somsak Kiartsuranon then cut short the debate at 11:50 am and asked for a vote.
The majority of MPs and senators cast 341 votes to have Parliament deliberate the three drafts without waiting for drafts from civil groups.
