Part of Hopewell beams collapses

Part of Hopewell beams collapses

A part of concrete beam for the nowscrapped Hopewell Project collapsed in Bangkok's Chatuchak district Thursday morning. Fortunately, it caused no injuries.

Chunks of concrete were scattered over the inbound railway. Some track-use adjustments were thus made to ensure train service continue uninterrupted even as relevant officials were still trying to remove the debris from the track.
Locals said they heard something big falling and thus rushed to the direction from which the sound came. The spot is just 100 metres away from Samian Naree Temple.
Police believe stolen screws and irons, in addition to the lack of maintenance, were responsible for the collapse of the long-neglected structure.
