Sukumpol said the list was drawn up by Supreme Commander General Thanasak Patimaprakorn and vetted by Defence permanent secretary General Sathien Permthong-in.
“I expect the military line-up to take effect without a problem,” he said.
The mid-year job assignments will involve 120 generals. Key appointments are expected to include the elevations of 2nd Army commander Lt General Thawatchai Samutsakorn and 3rd Army commander Lt General Wanthip Wongwai to rank of general.
Thawatchai and Wanthip, slated for mandatory retirement in September, will both take up advisory positions as Army experts. The two and Army chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha are fellow Pre-Cadet Class 12 graduates.
