A warehouse used to store illegal petrol in Narathiwat’s Sungai Kolok district caught fire yesterday morning, causing damage worth Bt10 million, police said.
At 5am, police and six fire engines went to the warehouse, belonging to Sae Yanya, on Sai Thong Road in Tambon Pasemus. It took two hours to put out the fire, which started when an electrical motor short-circuited while Sae’s employees were loading illegal petrol from a large tank on a pick-up truck to a storage tank. The petrol was to be distributed to Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat. Both the truck and the warehouse were consumed by fire.
