Fire at Swissotel Le Concorde under control

FRIDAY, MAY 11, 2012

Firefighters managed to bring under control a blaze at a five-star hotel on Ratchadaphisek Road on Friday morning

The fire, which reportedly started on the first floor of Swissotel Le Concorde shortly before noon, sent guests and staff running out in panic.
As of noon, the fire had been put out, though thick smoke remained. One person was injured from choking and was rushed to a Rama IX hospital.
With the already-congested traffic on the road becoming worse, police told drivers to avoid the area.
