Youth correctional agencies to meet next week

Juvenile correctional services from across the world will be meeting in Thailand from June 12 to 14, the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection announced yesterday.

In the meeting, the department service will present a device that can be used to screen troubled children and identify their wrongdoings and the reason behind their behaviour, directorgeneral Thawatchai Thaikheo said. The department has spent three years developing this device.
The meeting will include officials from 20 countries in the AsiaPacific region as well as Canada and Spain, he said. Thailand's juvenile correctional department has been recognised for its efficiency and is ranked highly in Southeast Asia.
