SUNDAY, JUNE 17, 2012

Bodies of Canadian sisters who were found dead in their hotel room on the popular resort of Phi Phi in Krabi province will be sent for autopsy to confirm the cause of the death, Dr Komkrip Phukrittayakami, director of Krabi Hospital said.

Initial inspections by doctors of Koh Phi Phi and Krabi hospitals found that bodies of Audrey, 20 and Noemi Balanger, 21, bore no wounds and no sign of violence in their Palm Residence room. They were found on June 15 at 9pm.

The doctors agreed that they should send the bodies for the autopsy to confirm the cause of the death to either Forensic Institute in Bangkok, Prince of Songkhla Hospital in Songkhla or in Surat Thani province. "We want correct explanation on the COD as the dead were foreigners," he said.

The Canadian Embassy in Bangkok has already been contacted and sent its official to see the scene at the hotel.
