"We take note of the election results in Greece and stand ready to engage with the new government on the way forward to help Greece achieve its objective of restoring financial stability, economic growth and jobs," an IMF spokesman said in a statement.
The conservative New Democracy party was the projected winner in Greek elections on Sunday and has called for a unity government that would continue to implement biting austerity measures that are a requirement to keep receiving international bailouts.
The defeated leftist SYRIZA party had promised an end to the austerity measures attached to EU-IMF aid.//DPA
