Traffic police chief MajGen Uthaiwan Kaewsaard said his office received initial details about the gang, which targets lone drivers or riders, staging accidents in order to demand damage compensation.
Uthaiwan urged motorists to look out for the gang if travelling alone at night and to alert police or call the 1197 hotline to get police help, so they can avoid such problems.
