Prison drug probe widens

After learning that the drug ring involving Nakhon Si Thammarat Prison inmates had sent a large quantity of drugs to be stored at a Tambon Lan Saka house pending distribution, police yesterday morning searched the house. Theerasak Olanchon, 25, and his wife Siranee Kanthanukul, 23, presented themselves as owners of the home, where drugs worth about Bt300,000 were found. Both face a charge of possessing drugs with intent to sell.
Lan Saka investigator Pol Lt-Colonel Kasidit Chankan said police were hunting for war weapons and drug fugitive Wutthikrai Sri-ura when they received information that Wutthikrai stored drugs at the home of his close aide Theerasak, which led to the issuing of a search warrant.
