Police Commission endorses Adul as next police chief

The Police Commission voted unanimously to endorse Pol Gen Adul Saengsingkaew as the next police commissioner-general.
Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra nominated Adul, a deputy police commissioner-general and acting secretary-general of the Office of Narcotics Control Board, as the next police chief after Pol Gen Priewphan Damapong retires at the end of September.
Pol Gen Ek Angsananon, deputy police chief and secretary of the Police Commission, said the commission voted unanimously to endorse Adul as the next police chief. The prime minister abstained during the voting.
Adul’s appointment will be sent for a royal command in about two weeks, Ek said.
