Govt seeks to use two military areas for flood retention

The Transport Ministry is coming up with an idea of temporarily using two military areas in Bangkok for water-retention purpose so as to spare commuters from the trouble of flooded roads and traffic nightmare.

Deputy Transport Minister Chatchart Sithipan Monday disclosed that Defence Minister ACM Sukampol Suwannathat had already been contacted about the plan to use the plots of the Royal Thai Army’s 2nd Cavalry Division, King’s Guards, and the Dhupateme Royal Thai Air Force Sports Stadium for waterretention purpose.
