Wall St ends up

U.S. stocks managed a slight gain as investors stay on sidelines ahead of U.S. presidential election.
Dow Jones Industrial Average squeezed out a gain of 19.28 points, or 0.15 per cent at 13,112.44.
S&P 500 gained 3.06 points, or 0.22 per cent at 1,417.26.
Nasdaq composite rose 17.53 points, or 0.59 per cent at 2,999.66.
Among the key S&P sectors, utilities lagged, while materials and energy gained.
