Pheu Thai asks DSI to probe Bangkok Futsal Arena project

The Pheu Thai Party Monday urged the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to launch a probe into the alleged corruption involving the construction of Bangkok Futsal Arena.
Located in Bangkok’s Nong Chok district, the shiny sports complex was constructed mainly for the 2012 Futsal World Cup. However, due to certain problems about the facility, the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has refused to use it.
Pheu Thai Party’s deputy spokesman Jirayu Huangsap thus lodged a complaint with the DSI against Bangkok Governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra and Deputy Bangkok Governor Thirachon Manomaipiboon, accusing them of violating laws in awarding the construction to a private firm in a non-transparent manner.
