The court has rescheduled the verdict session for tomorrow after granting the defence’s request for a delay due to illness of a defendant’s mother.
The case came to light in November 2011, and triggered suspicion over how and why Suphoth had amassed the huge amount of cash.
The National Anti-Corruption Commission subsequently probed Suphoth’s wealth, then impounded Bt64 million worth of his assets on suspicion of them being ill-gotten gains.
Public prosecutors are in the process of seeking judicial approval to seize the assets.
