Unrepentant Korkaew plans another bail request

Korkaew Pikulthong, a Pheu Thai MP and red-shirt leader, refused yesterday to apologise to the Constitutional Court, saying it was unclear which law the Criminal Court applied in ruling that he had failed to show remorse.

Korkaew, who won temporary release due to his parliamentary immunity while the House was in session, said he would consult with his attorney Jessada Chandee about submitting another bail request. The Criminal Court sent him back to jail on Monday as the House had adjourned for recess.

Korkaew said he slept well last night and would be stuck in his cell until the House reconvenes.
On Monday, the court found no grounds for granting bail saying there has been no clear evidence to the court that the Korkaew regrets violation of the previous bail conditions, nor has he done anything to rehabilitate the negative consequences of his conduct.
