Two police officers 'dismissed' pending inquiries

One officer from Thong Lor Police Station was accused of raping a Laotian woman while he was sidelining as taxi driver on April 21 and another officer from Din Daeng station was accused of taking a female drug suspect from a checkpoint to a motel on the night of April 26, instead of taking her to the station for a urine test.
Khamronwit said fact-finding committees were set to look into the two allegations within three days.
Given that a report from acting Metropolitan Police Area 5 chief Anuchai Lekbumrung said initial inquiries found grounds suggesting wrongdoing, Khamronwit signed temporary dismissal orders for both officers, which was took effect immediately.

OFFICERS STILL AT LARGE
The Thong Lor officer who worked as a cabdriver, Pol Sub-Lieutenant Thatree Seubsaman, is wanted by Samut Prakan police, while Din Daeng’s Pol Snr Sgt-Major Worawit Nukulkit, who appeared in a YouTube clip – chased by the victim’s relatives after allegedly taking her to an apartment which also served as motel – both remained at large at press time.
Khamronwit said the force was also probing whether the two Din Daeng police who picked up Worawit while on patrol, then let him go were also at fault.
He affirmed that the force would not protect police who do wrong and would not only take disciplinary action against them but also punish them under the criminal code if the cases lead to that.
Din Daeng superintendent Pol Col Panop Worathanatchakul reported to Metropolitan Police Area 1 chief Wichanwat Borirakkul that Worawit was on leave until today but officers were trying to locate their colleague, reportedly now in Songkhla.
He has allegedly vowed to see police today.
Given that Worawit failed to explain the motel incident, the initial probe found sufficient evidence to suggest wrongdoing. He was temporarily dismissed because his alleged action was a disciplinary breach and tarnished the force.
