Pattani department store hit by blast

The Diana department store in Pattani was hit by a blast early Thursday, police said. No one was injured.

Police also found another homemade bomb in front of a nearby vehicle showroom and another explosion also occurred in Yaring district Thursday morning.
Police said insurgents detonated the homemade bomb with about 5-kilogramme explosives placed at the entrance to the store at 4:40 am. The gate, front windows and some goods were damaged.
It was the fourth time that the store was hit by bomb attacks.
When Pattani police chief Pol Maj Gen Ekkapop Prasitwattanachai led police to inspect the scene, they spot a gas cylinder left in front the Pithan Motors showroom.
Police used a rope to fell the cylinder, triggering its explosion that damaged the glass windows of the showroom. Buildings and vehicles in the 50-metre-radius of the explosion were also damaged.
Police said insurgents placed the first bomb in front of the store and detonated it before placing the second bomb in front the showroom or about 20 metres from the first bomb.
At 7:30 am, insurgents detonated another bomb on the Pattani-Narathiwat Road in Yaring district. No one was injured in the explosion.
