Wall St ends flat

U.S. stocks closed flat in sluggish trading overnight with the S&P 500 briefly hit a new all-time high.
Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 26.81 points to end at 15,091.68.
S&P 500 squeezed out a gain of 0.07 points to close at 1,633.77 after touching a new all-time high of 1,636.
Among key S&P sectors, materials and telecoms lagged, while health care and financials shares rose.
Nasdaq gained 2.21 points to end at 3,438.79, after briefly hitting a new 12-year high for 11th-straight session.
