Suspect 'named leaders of southern bombings, murders'

A detained prime suspect, Sakariya Tohtayong, has implicated alleged masterminds of the movement blamed for unrest in Thailand's deep South.

Sakariya has given useful testimony that looks set to allow authorities to solve many security cases including the bombings of the CS Pattani Hotel and the Diana shopping complex, the robbery of a security van carrying cash for a bank, and the attack on a grocery shop that saw six victims including a toddler killed.
From the robbery, they made off with over Bt5.8-million.
“His answers during the interrogation have allowed us to know who are the masterminds and who are the members of the movement,” Colonel Komkrit Rattanachaya said in his capacity as head of the 47th Paramilitary Regimental Taskforce.
