The Office of the Education Council (OEC) has joined forces with the Information and Communications Technology Ministry (ICT)'s National Statistics Office (NSO) to launch three software applications aimed at boosting the public's access to educational sta

During the International Academic Conference 2013, being held under the theme of “Education for Thailand’s Future” from Sunday to today(Tues) at Centara Grand Hotel at Central World, the OEC and NSO signed a Memorandum of Understanding on statistical co-operation so that OEC can produce educational indicators that will allow for better education management.
ICT Minister Group Captain Anudith Nakornthap, who signed the MoU, also unveiled the latest educational innovations – to be available via the Apple Application outlet (App.Store) and via a website – including Stat-ED (Education Statistics), Re-ED (Education Research) and Eva-ED (Education Evaluation). He said the apps would be tools for those interested in directly obtaining education statistics and research information rather than requesting them from agencies, and would allow people to plan policies for personal and national development. The employment statistics could help people choose which careers would offer employment right after graduation and which couldn’t, while state agencies could also use the data in policy-making.
At the same event, Education Minister Phongthep Thepkanjana in his opening speech urged all sides to think about how to best prepare Thais for the changes that will come with the Asean Economic Community (AEC) in 2015 and how best to produce graduates with skills that meet market demands. He urged the private sector to join with the education sector to produce graduates who can work effectively.
