The talks were held at Rayong City Hall and presided over by Rayong clerk Thatree Namasonthi. PTTGC president Bowon Vongsinudom and executive vice president Varit Namwong were present at the meet, as was Jaturas Eiumworaniran, the leader of the Rayong Small Fishing Trawler Association, accompanied by 10 representatives of affected fishermen.
The talks ended after two hours without reaching a conclusion, as the association wanted PTTGC to pay its 760 members Bt2,000 per day for 60 days, which would total Bt85 million, but the company only wanted to pay Bt3,000 per day for 30 days, saying that the fishermen could take the issue to the province-assigned appeal committee in 15 days.
