At a press conference on Tuesday, NACC commissioner Klanarong Chantik said investigation into the matter led to the conclusion that Boonsong had not violated Article 157 of the Criminal Code by being dishonest in his duties. However, he said, there were no court regulations that allowed a judge’s secretary to take paid leave to study abroad.
Picha Wijitsilpa, chairman of the Law Progress Club of Thailand, brought the matter to NACC’s attention.
Klanarong said that though Boonsong’s action did not constitute corruption, his move was not authorised or reported to the president of the court. The NACC has told the court to take action and Boonsong’s son to return all the paid salary and allowances.
