Cabinet okays hike in education subsidy

Cabinet yesterday approved in principle a hike in the annual subsidy for the basic education of non-formal students.
Deputy government spokesperson Sunisa Lertpakawat said the lower-secondary level would see a per-head hike from Bt2,300 to Bt3,500, while the higher-secondary level would see a rise from Bt2,300 to Bt3,800. The subsidy will be implemented once the Education Ministry gets the go-ahead from the Budget Bureau.
