House-Senate joint meeting on Saturday voted 358:2 to pass Constitution amendment bill on election and qualifications of senators. Thirty parliamentarians abstained.
The Democrats protested the process by staging a walk-out of the chamber.
According to the law, the premier must present the bill for royal endorsement within 20 days.
