Somkit secures second term as Thammasat president

Incumbent Thammasat University president Somkit Lertpaithoon has been approached to serve for a second term, beginning in December.
Of a 44 possible candidates for the job, the selection committee, headed by Manich Sooksomchitra, shortlisted 22 of the candidates.
The 22 were obliged to confirm their interest in the post by September 27. Only Somkit made his confirmation before the deadline.
Under the selection and nomination process, Somkit will have to present his administrative plans by October 21.
The selection committee is expected to nominate Somkit by November 25 for the approval of the university’s council.
