Alongkorn vows to stay on with Democrat

Democrat Deputy leader Alongkorn Pollabutr Thursday denied that he planned to leave the party to form a new alternative one with Democrat secretary-general Chalermchai Sri-on.

Alongkorn dismissed speculation that he and other Democrat MPs, who called for party reform, would leave the Democrat out of dissatisfaction that their call for reform went unheeded.
“The Democrats are not rifted because of this issue. Other groups, which are outside the party, did come to talk to me about an alternative party but it’s normal,” Alongkorn said.
“I hereby affirm that I’ll stay with the Democrat to push for reform. I’ll will not leave my home when there are problems.”
