New York - One of the most famous names in newspapers is no more.
The International Herald Tribune published its last edition Monday and will be known in future as the International New York Times – a bid to increase the global appeal of the iconic US newspaper.
The change was announced months ago, but Tuesday is the first day the International New York Times masthead will appear on the publication.
The Herald Tribune was founded in 1887 and had been a joint venture between the Times and the Washington Post until 2003, when the Times took complete ownership.//DPA
