Government sets vote on amnesty bill for Friday

The government whip on Wednesday set the dates for the House's deliberations of the amnesty bill in the second and third readings as tomorrow and Friday, chief government whip Amnuay Klangpa said.

Deputy chief whip Paijit Sriworakhan said the government whip also agreed to vote on the bill in its third reading on Friday. The whip will later discuss the schedule with the Opposition whip.
The opposition Democrat Party on Wednesday declared a major rally tomorrow evening to protest against the bill, which would grant a blanket amnesty to all those involved in political protests from the September 19, 2006 coup to August 8, 2013, with the exception of those accused of violating Section 112 of the Criminal Code, also known as the lese majeste law.
