Visiting two cops injured in the same incident at Chiang Rai Prachanukhro Hospital yesterday, Pongsapat presented flowers from the PM as well as some assistance money to Pol Sub-Lieutenant Sakchai Ree-in and Pol Snr Sgt-Major Prachoom Srijompaeng, before attending the funeral of the slain officer, Thapanan Chattrakul.
Pongsapat also urged officials to be cautious and use bullet-proof vests, as drug dealers were often armed.
Besides the posthumous promotion and pay hike, Thapanan’s family would also Bt4 million in assistance money from various funds including Bt2 million from the Royal Thai Police.
Thapanan’s children would also be recruited as police when they grow up if they wished to serve in the force.
