Pheu Thai seeks to dissolve Democrat Party

The ruling Pheu Thai Party has petitioned for the dissolution of opposition Democrat Party involved in anti-amnesty protests, party spokesman Prompong Nopparit said on Thursday.
Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva was a rally speaker at Ratchadamnoen Avenue located within the banned area under the Internal Security Act, Prompong said.
Under the political parties legislation, Abhisit’s rally involvement is ground for the Democrat disbandment, he said.
