We will overcome, says minister

Rally organiser Suthep Thaugsuban set this month as the deadline to declare victory because he was pinning his hopes on a convergence of several events, Interior Minister Charupong Ruangsuwan said Wednesday.

But the government was prepared to overcome its adversaries, he said, voicing optimism about the administration’s survival.
In Suthep’s view, the government may face adverse implications from the Constitutional Court’s ruling on charter amendment, which is set for next Wednesday, he said.
Moreover, the opposition is poised to launch a censure debate by the final week of November. However, the relevant Cabinet members have braced for rebutting the opposition’s attacks, he insisted.
Furthermore, the ruling Pheu Thai Party and the red shirts will work in concert to “explain” the situation to the public, he said.
