PTT donates 32,000 reflective traffic cones to police

PTT Plc has donated 32,000 reflective traffic cones to police this year to support police's campaign to cut road accident rate, Assistant Police Commissioner-General Pol Lt Gen Ruangsak Jarit-ek said Thursday.

Ruangsak said Thailand has been ranked as one of top three countries with highest number of road accidents. About 20,000 people were killed in road accidents in Thailand a year, he said.
He said reflective road cones are necessary for police to regulate traffic flows to try to bring down the accidents.
He said the PTT handed over the latest lot of traffic cones to the Royal Thai Police Thursday, brining the number of its donated road cones to 32,000 this year. The cones were about Bt5 million worth, Ruangsak said.
He said the traffic cones have been distributed to all police stations nationwide.
