Wall St ends up on positive consumers pre-holiday data

U.S. stocks rose to new records overnight on mixed economic data on Thanksgiving eve.

Dow Jones Industrial Average again closed at new high, up 24.53 points, or 0.2 per cent, at 16,097.33. S&P 500 gained 4.48 points, or 0.3 per cent at 1,807.23. Technology led sector gains, while energy shares led the losses among the S&P's 10 major industry groups.

Nasdaq composite added 27 points, or 0.7 per cent at 4,044.75.
