EC urged to clarify number draw date

Suratin Picharn, leader of the New Democratic Party, yesterday called on the Election Commission to make clear its stance on when the political parties that submitted party-list candidacy registration documents on Monday could take a number draw.
He met with Somchai Srisuthiyakorn, EC member in charge of the election, at the commission’s headquarters.
Suratin said his party had fielded 54 party-list MP candidates and would field 140 constituency MP candidates, mainly in the South and the Northeast.
He said he was confident the Democrats’ boycott of the election would benefit his party.
