Wall St ends mixed

U.S. stocks closed mixed, Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 44.12 points, or 0.3 per cent, to 16,414.44 on fourth quarter results of Verizon, Travelers Companies and Johnson & Johnson and modest upgrade to IMF's economic projection.
S&P 500 rose 5.10 points, or 0.3 per cent at 1,843.80, while the Nasdaq composite gained 28.18 points, up 0.7 per cent at  4,225.76.
