Chaiwat Sithisuksakul, the attorney for the relatives of Sattha Saedan and Jirapong Chuichai, who were killed during the clash between police and protesters, also named Chalerm Yoobamrung, supervisor of the Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order; National Police chief Pol General Adul Saengsingkaew; Tarit Pengdith, director-general of the Department of Special Investigation; and two police officers as co-defendants.
Chaiwat said he sued Yingluck and the others on the same charge – premeditated murder – laid against Abhisit Vejjajiva and Suthep Thaugsuban for their alleged roles in the 2010 political upheaval.
Deputy Pheu Thai Party spokesman Anusorn Iamsa-ard said the PDRC was trying to accuse Yingluck of being behind the bloodshed, so the party’s legal team was gathering evidence to lodge a libel suit against the protesters, especially their leader, Suthep.
