27 senators ask Constitutional Court to disqualify Yingluck on Thawil's case

A group of 27 senators Monday sought a ruling from the Constitutional Court as to whether Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawtra violated the charter over the case of transfer of Thawil Pliensri.

The group alleged that Yingluck violated Article 268 of the charter that prohibited politicians from interfering in the works of permanent officials for vested interest.
The Supreme Administrative Court ruled that Yingluck’s order to remove Thawil from the position of secretary general of the National Security Council was unlawful.
The 27 senators submitted their petition to Senate Speaker Senate Speaker Nikom Wairatpanich asked him to forward it to the court.
