EC approves Paradorn's transfer, Thawil's reinstatement

The Election Commission Tuesday approved the Cabinet's decision to transfer Paradorn Pattanthabutr to an advisory post at the PM's Office to pave way for the reinstatement of Thawil Pliensri as the secretary general of the National Security Council.
The Supreme Administrative Court has ruled that the order to transfer Thawil to an advisory post at the PM’s Office was unlawful.
As a result, the Cabinet resolved to swap posts of Thawil and Paradorn.
The election laws require the EC to approve transfers of senior government officials during the run-up to an election.
