Cabinet assigns Plodprasop to help quake victims

The Cabinet Tuesday set up a special committee headed by caretaker Deputy Prime Minister Plodprasop Suraswadi to alleviate grievances of people affected by the 6.3-Richter quake on Monday.
Deputy Government Spokeswoman Sunisa Lertpakawat said the Plodprasop panel would come up with measures to help the quake victims in three northern provinces in 15 days.
The panel would also draft long-term plan to mitigate impacts from the quake in the future, Sunisa said.
