Govt proposes election held on August 3

The government wants the Election Commission to hold the new election on August 3, EC member Somchai Srisutthiyakorn said Tuesday.
Somchai said the government also agreed to have the draft royal decree on election have a provision to state that the election could be delayed in case of emergency.
Somchai said the government also affirmed that acting Prime Minister Niwattumrong Boonsongpaisan had the authority to submit the draft royal decree for a royal command.
