First doping case confirmed at 2014 Asian Games

Incheon, South Korea (dpa) - A Tajikistani footballer was the first athlete to test positive for doping at the Asian Games, the Olympic Council of Asia said Wednesday.

Khurshed Beknazarov, 20, tested positive for the banned substance methylhexaneamine after a match played September 14, five days before the opening of the Games in Incheon, South Korea.
The council said it disqualified Beknazarov from the Games, and would send the findings to the World Anti-Doping Agency "for further action on their part as per sanctions concerning eligibility."
