The Thai Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (TSPCA) has urged the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) to consider implementing long-shelved draft legislation on animal welfare soon.

After receiving the request from TSPCA vice president Nuchtip Banchongsilp yesterday, NLA President Pornphetch Wichitcholchai said that previous governments |had failed to pass the draft law, it needed to be resubmitted for NLA consideration, which should not take long.
He said he personally backed the draft as it was a good gesture for human-animal co-existence.
