The TAT said a high level delegation led by its deputy governor Vilaiwan Twichasri held talks with Amaury Sport Organisation, the primary organisation responsible for the Tour de France.
"Talks are ongoing about having one of the stages of the 2015 Tour de France in Thailand," a TAT official confirmed to dpa.
Vilaiwan was quoted in a TAT press release as saying that it was a "perfect combination" to amalgamate "the world famous bicycling" with a "world famous tourist destination."
