New Army chief urges sustainable development

New Army chief General Udomdej Sitabutr yesterday urged Army officers to help sustainable development and to increase the armed forces' efficiency.

General Udomdej Sitabutr, who is also deputy Defence Minister, yesterday arranged the first meeting of the Army units and outlined 12 policies to military officers.
The policies included how to develop sustainability and efficiency in the armed forces, maintaining internal stability, ending violence in the far South, protecting the monarchy, and preparation for the Asean Economic Community.
He also urged Army personnel to head to Siriraj Hospital to express their best wishes for His Majesty’s good health. The much-revered monarch has been receiving treatment at this medical facility.
