Prayut urges motorists to share roads with bikers

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha Friday vowed to have government agencies and other agencies join force to build bike lanes through communities and urged motorists to share roads with bikers.

He said he had instructed the Transport Ministry to work with other government agencies to build bike lane pilot projects around the country as soon as possible.
The projects might continue from existing bike routes, Prayut said during his weekly TV programme.
“I want [the projects] to be done around the country – both in Bangkok and all provinces. I would like to ask motorists and motorcyclists to beware of cyclists. They must share the roads,” Prayuth said.
He said he would like to see small shops built along bike routes in communities so that bikers would stop by to shops and talk to one another.
