GLO board chairman says efforts to control lottery price failed

Customs Department chief Somchai Satchapong, chairman of the board of directors of the Government Lottery Office, admitted that the efforts to control the lottery ticket price to be no more than Bt90 a pair had completely failed.

He said the measures were effective for only a few draws and then the prices shot up again to be Bt110 a pair again.

He said the GLO would hold a seminar to brainstorm ideas how to control the retail price. Representatives of all sides, including lottery vendors, would be invited to take part in the seminar.
