An 86-year-old woman who lived alone in her house in Angthong's Muang district was killed when her house was burnt down early Sunday, police said.
The woman was identified as Nei Mongkol.
Firefighters were alerted of the blaze at 5:30 am and rushed to the scene with three fire engines but the house was already engulfed with the blaze.
Police suspected that the woman lit up a mosquito repellent stick and went to bed. The house has caught fire twice earlier, police said.
