Constitution drafters vow to work with honesty

Constitution drafters Wednesday vowed to work honestly, fairly and without bias for the maximum benefit of the country and the people.

Drafting of a new charter is expected to complete in late July next year and the final constitutional draft is likely to be submitted for royal endorsement by early September after approval from the National Reform Council (NRC), according to the calendar distributed to Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC) members Wednesday.
Some 30 out of the 36 CDC members, led by committee chairman Borwornsak Uwanno, went to the City Pillar Shrine and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
At Wat Phra Kaew, Borwornsak led an oathtaking ceremony by the constitution drafters, who promised to perform their duty with honesty, fairness and impartiality, for the maximum benefit of the country and the people.
