His Majesty's condition improves

His Majesty the King's fever has dropped and his general condition is improving, the ninth announcement from the Royal Household Bureau said yesterday.

The monarch was being treated for diverticulitis, and doctors at Siriraj hospital said His Majesty had developed a temperature, discomfort in the stomach and rapid heartbeat from the condition. Upon conducting Xrays, blood tests and ultrasound tests, the doctors found that though His Majesty’s lungs were functioning normally, the diverticulitis had returned.

The doctors treated the condition by administering a new medication intravenously until the fever dropped and His Majesty’s condition improved.
Since His Majesty was affected by diverticulitis more quickly this time, the doctors have decided to administer the medication for a longer time, the announcement said.
